Access control is the temporary or permanent exclusion of animals, people, vehicles, and/or equipment from an area.

Purposes and Benefits

  • Prevents, restricts, or controls access to an area

  • Protects, maintains, or establishes wildlife habitat

  • Protects water quality by controlling access to water bodies by livestock, people, and machinery

  • Reduces soil erosion by controlling access to areas susceptible to erosion during various times of the year

Ground Disturbing Potential of Conservation Practices

This is a potential ground disturbing conservation practice. Any project with ground disturbing or potential ground disturbing practices planned may need to be submitted for review by the State Historic Preservation Officer and Tribal Historic Preservation Officers.
