Black Swallow-WortBlack swallow-wort is a perennial, twining herbaceous vine from the milkweed family. It's habitat is mostly associated with upland areas of old fields, woodlands, hedgerows and brushy areas. Black swallow-wort grows in thick patches, smothering other vegetation. When an area such as a field is overtaken, the populations of grassland birds and the insects they depend on for food can be negatively impacted.
