Activating and Adjusting the Automatic Save Feature

It is highly recommended that all CADD workstations have the Automatic Save function activated.

The amount of time between saves can be adjusted. A 20 minute interval is recommended. An interval longer than 20 minutes creates the risk of losing a greater amount of work, should your drawing session be interrupted by a power failure or system crash. An interval of less than 20 minutes can become disruptive and annoying since the system may pause briefly during the process of saving.

  1. Type options at the command line, or select Tools from the Main menu, then Options.

  2. Select the Open and Save tab.

  3. In the File Safety Precautions area, check the Automatic save check box.

  4. Enter a value in the Minutes between saves box.

  5. Select the Apply button.

  6. Select the OK button to exit.
